The results were as good as I'd hoped in some ways but it became clear that I would not be able to rely on after effects to automatically track the masks and I would have to do a great deal of it by hand. There were many hand movements not picked up by using the automatic method. It was around this time in testing that, as has been outlined in my IEC, my health became an issue, the amount of time was able to work was dwindling and there were group projects that needed prioritisation. For the sake of getting a finished product I could be proud of (and also, frankly, admitting the original concept of a 5 minute video with this workload would of been ambitious even if I had the time I thought I would) I scaled things back. Test Footage, Experimenting with masking.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wraQUsSEcy4 In order to create the effect I will be using throughout the video I first created a gif file in photoshop to serve as the "footage" of the ghost's texture. (the gif will likely not appear well on this page as it is white on transparent but is shown below). The effect may prove to be too light to be seen in some shots, further experimentation with a glow effect may yield interesting results
